What's the best way to connect innovation-minded companies with emerging technologies (and the entrepreneurs who develop them)? I've learned, from both my corporate roles and my entrepreneurial roles, that 'open innovation' is about much more than technology scouting and online marketplaces. I believe that successful open innovation requires a commitment to building relationships, not just transacting technologies.
I normally try to avoid turning this platform into a direct marketing vehicle for my company, but we're running a strategic experiment that I think may be of interest to you, to at least follow. In July of this year, we're sponsoring an event in Boston entitled "Speed-dating for Innovation: Focus on Consumer Health Monitoring Technologies". It's similar to a concept and event that I helped the South Florida MIT Enterprise Forum implement earlier this year, related to linking entrepreneurs with angel investors (https://www.mitforumfl.org/).
You can learn more about this 'open-innovation' event, at www.speeddatingforinnovation.com. I'll keep you posted on progress and the response we receive.
