About Me

Mike Docherty has 24 years of innovation management experience in industries as diverse as automotive, medical and consumer housewares. His broad-based leadership experience includes senior roles in general management, marketing and new product development.

Mike is currently CEO of Venture2 Inc., a new ventures management company, based in Boca Raton, Florida. Venture2 helps consumer product companies create new sources of growth through innovation. V2 identifies unmet consumer needs, leverages external innovations/technologies and then quickly launches them within an independent, new-ventures environment.

Prior to launching Venture2, Mike was Vice President & General Manager for the health products division of Sunbeam Products, Inc. Previous to this role, Mike was Vice President of Product Development & Technology for Sunbeam Household Products.

Before Sunbeam, Mike founded Creative Logic, a highly successful strategic consulting business focusing on innovation strategy and new product development. His previous corporate career includes marketing and technical leadership roles for Ford Motor Company, General Electric Corporation and Rohm & Haas Company. In each of these positions, Mike has combined strategic, creative thinking with the development of high performance teams in order to achieve profit growth through innovation.

Mike earned an MBA degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School and BSME degree from Drexel University. He is a highly rated national speaker on innovation and is an inventor on four U.S. patents. Mike is actively involved in supporting the entrepreneurial community. He resides in Boca Raton, Florida with his wife Theresa and their three children.
